In 2009, Tim Rogers, a video game designer and critic who I enjoy, asked me to contribute a video to a Kotaku article of his about jumping mechanics. Hannah Miller and I created one of our earliest puppet videos, a circular narrative about dying repeatedly and learning from one's mistakes. We shot on a standard definition camcorder, whose poor chroma subsampling and image sensor made for poor green screening. Despite its technical flaws, it was a good starting point.
